Project Manager - Shopfitting - 6 month rolling contract

£35,000 - £42,000 (Depending on experience)

My client is an international leader in global services with 360° vision and innovation for the retail industry. They are a leader in engineering, manufacturing, and assembling of furniture for retail, and offer consulting & design, site and project management, value engineering as well as technological and lighting solutions services.

The role:

My client is looking for a project manager to join their team, who has prior experience within the retail shopfitting industry and has the ability to oversee and co-ordinate various nationwide projects. The Project Manager will have the full responsibility to manage the three main project constraints; Time; Budget; Resource.

This is a 6 month contract covering long term sickness. This contract may be extended and may progress to a permanent position.


Daily tasks will change depending on the day and the project but can consist of:

  • Form a key link between our business and our clients and form long term relationships.

  • Overall project ownership, responsibility and control (Operational and Financial).

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of your allocated projects including Project Initiation, Project Procedures, Project Planning, Project Reporting, Project Financials and Project Closeout.

  • Interpreting drawings and specifications provided by the client.

  • Responsible for ordering the required equipment.

  • Planning of programme and organizing of resource and materials within a given budget.

  • Surveying, scoping and diagnosis of issues / snagging works.

  • Attend project meetings with clients and other project stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain Site Quality Plans/Risk Assessments/Method Statements.

  • Pre-planning of site activity and resources.

  • Complete installation packs and brief fitting teams.

  • Feedback on installation performance.

  • Site surveillance quality checks during ‘live’ project installations.

  • Manage project change and cost tracking during every stage of the project life-cycle.

  • Final project accounting and issuing of invoice approvals.

  • Report on a monthly basis all financials to the Business Unit Manager as to ensure monthly forecasts are correct.


  • 2 years + Prior experience as a project manager is a must.

  • Prior experience within shopfitting is a must.

  • A good understanding of retail drawings and retail industry experience.

  • The ability to prioritize workloads to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Experience working within Health and Safety standards ensuring they’re adhered to at all times.

  • Experience within the retail fixtures industry as an advantage.
