Cost supply and lay contracts involve an engagement with a contractor, which can be the principle contractor or a groundworks sub-contractor and this involves installing to a pre-prepared base. In some cases the works order may have been placed via a merchant. This can see a wide range of standard and bespoke contracts and orders being used. A small number of projects are undertaken on a ‘full package’ basis working direct with clients; this will see the order including excavation and sub-base works. The role ? Site measurement for external and internal valuations on a nationwide basis. ? Applications for payment / invoicing for works. ? Final account settlements. ? Dispute resolution. ? Material quantifying and scheduling. ? Cost analysis. ? Attending pre-let meetings. ? Managing contractor’s supply chain documentation requirements. The tools needed or preferred ? Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role. ? Experience of groundworks. ? A working knowledge of contract forms including NEC3. ? Qualified to minimum HNC standard. ? CSCS Card. ? Preferred to have IOSH qualification. ? The ability to take initiatives and a flexibility to adapt to challenges
