It is based around residential properties and new builds but also commercial included. The company prides itself on providing work or project development in any situation. The company primarily being based in Hertfordshire.
Working as a Quantity Surveyor daily requirements for this company include-
Extensive experience in project managing in the construction industry, with knowledge on seeing projects through on different types of buildings and sites with a particular focus on commercial and/or residential projects.
Being able to collaborate and have discussions with members who will be working on the same projects in the team. These include Finance, Marketing, Sales and project managers while also building multiple different types of relationships with Subcontractors, Suppliers and further relationships and get involved with External client QS.
Co-ordinate preparing specifications which may include contractors’ proposals and being familiar with completing and corresponding to this in the past. You must be confident in post tender negotiations and have some experience also manage and valuing variations on current and pre-existing projects.
Having a general awareness and being comfortable managing cost, Payments and cashflow across each project that you will be working on.
Evaluation, Reporting and tracking skills. You will be first point of contact as this job is giving you full control being the only QS in the company.
Working as a Quantity Surveyor will mean that you are confident in Pre-Contract and Post-Contract responsibilities, skills based around of numeracy and effective communication. The company would prefer if you had experience working on Procore/Xero but is not essential and training will be given to make sure that you have a good grasp and understanding on how to use the database. They are looking for someone that is ready to hit the ground running and not afraid of continuing and completing projects that still have not yet being fully completed. It is also a positive if you have an eye for detail as this will help you merge and understand the role completely. Engaging and corresponding with other members to help the project come to life is key.
