Company Description
My client has grown steadily over the years to become a leading provider of building, refurbishment and repair services to education, local authority and commercial clients.
As a result of this continued growth my client requires a Quantity Surveyor to add to our team in the office.
Job Description You would have a varied role based in the Morley office and would have the following Roles & Responsibilities:
Analyse successfully tendered project.
Manage work packages, send enquirers to sub-contractors, compare quotes and place sub-contract orders.
Populate and manage the external valuation document and manage the monthly submission and certification process with contract administrators.
Process, estimate, and log contract variations.
Assess sub-contractor valuations and variations and issue payment certificates.
Maintain effective communication and liaise with the rest of the team in the office and on site.
Report on the health of all projects using our in-house tools and identify any potential risks.
Compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.
Ensure compliance with the company's quality management systems.
Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner.
Representing and acting as an ambassador for the company in a professional and confidence-inspiring manner; meeting, negotiating and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships and maintain quality of service.
Assist with estimating where required.
Desired Skills and Experience
Comfortable taking off to Standard Methods of Measurement.
Able to create composite rates using first principles.
Expertise in administering high value, multi-disciplinary construction project work packages / contracts utilizing forms of contract such as the NEC and JCT suites.
Minimum 2 years industry experience.
HNC level qualification in construction (or working towards).
Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Willingness to learn and develop.
Strong commercial acumen.
Full UK Drivers License.
Eligible to live and work in the UK with a valid driver’s license.
