Hunter Masons client has a great opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Twickenham on a full time permanent basis.

Requirements:
Have a relevant Construction Qualification (highly desirable but not essential)
A minimum of 5 years experience within a UK main contractor (build)
Able to compile competitive tenders for projects ranging from £100k to £5m + in value
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to measure accurate quantities from drawings
Good understanding of commercial issues relating to tenders
Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word & Adobe
Knowledge of Estimating software packages
First class communication skills
A stable work history
Salary to be discussed.Responsibilities: - Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other contract documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects. - Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes. - Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project scope and identify potential risks or challenges. - Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services. - Research and source pricing for materials and equipment from suppliers and vendors. - Utilize estimating software and tools to generate accurate cost estimates and proposals. - Present cost estimates to clients or internal stakeholders in a clear and professional manner. - Participate in bid meetings and negotiations with clients or subcontractors.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. - Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry. - Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards. - Proficient in reading blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents. - Excellent mathematical skills for accurate quantity take-offs and cost calculations. - Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam). - Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision. - Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders. - Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
