My Client has over 10 years’ experience as a nationwide highways contractor specializing in street lighting, traffic signs, technology, independent connections (ICP) and electric vehicle charging. Due to a period of significant growth the client now boasts an annual turnover of over £30M.
The role:
My Client is looking to hire an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Newton Aycliffe who would report directly to the Commercial Director. You would be responsible for managing projects of various sizes ensuring clear and accurate budgets are produced at tender. You will Support the Commercial Director/Commercial Manager in developing and implementing the businesses commercial strategy within your projects.
Duties:
Daily tasks will change depending on the day and the project but can consist of:
· Ensure that clear and accurate budgets are done at tender award and then monthly per project via Elite
· Procurement of works to meet and exceed programme and ideally tender budgets
· Preparation of sub-contract documents for tendering
· Management of client and subcontractor accounts
· Weekly review and analysis of programme, progress and cost monitoring
· Change control management
· Risk & opportunity management
· Financial monitoring and reporting and liaising with the project team
· Development and Agreement of Project Forecasts with Operational teams
· Detailed commercial analysis of various outputs
· Commercial support on tenders
Requirements:
· Degree qualified in quantity surveying
· Line Management Experience
· A methodical thinker
· Self-motivated
· Great at prioritizing effectively, and able to deal with multiple responsibilities and deadlines
· A strong communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with people at all levels
· Attention to detail
· Proficient in Microsoft Office
